The Reed C-370 RTD digital thermometer with platinum resistor puncture probe is for use in applications requiring precise and stable temperature measurements. It measures temperature -100 to 500 degrees C (-148 to 572 degrees F) with an accuracy of + or - 0.1% of the reading plus 0.4 degrees C (0.8 degrees F). The platinum resistor sensor provides more accurate and stable readings than a thermistor sensor but has a narrower temperature measurement range and slower response time. The LCD screen shows the current temperature, the highest or lowest temperature reading for the session, the average reading for the session, or the difference between two readings. The operator can choose to display readings in degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius. The backlit display is readable in low light. The hold function keeps a measurement on the display so it can be recorded. A platinum resistor puncture probe is included. The thermometer operates on three AAA batteries (included). A low-battery indicator alerts the operator when the batteries need to be changed, and the thermometer automatically turns off after a period of non-use to conserve battery life. A waterproof casing helps protect against damage from splashes and spills.SpecificationsTemperature measurement range-100 to 500 degrees C (-148 to 572 degrees F)Resolution0.1 degree C or FAccuracy+ or - 0.1% of the reading plus 0.4 degrees C (0.8 degrees F)Temperature co-efficient0.01% of reading plus 0.03 degrees C at less than 18 degrees C or greater than 28 degrees CPower supplyAAA batteries (three, included)Weight175 g (6.17 oz.)Dimensions*150 x 66 x 31 mm/5.9 x 2.6 x 1.22 in. Digital thermometers are instruments used to measure the temperature of air, liquids, or surfaces electronically. They may measure temperature in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or both. Most digital thermometers use thermistors, which are small electronic resistors. Thermistors are made out of metals that conduct electricity within a certain range and become more conductive the warmer they get. A microcontroller inside the thermometer measures this electrical conductivity and converts it to a temperature, which is displayed on an LCD. Digital thermometers are used in a wide range of applications, including in laboratory settings, food service and storage, and in doctors' offices and hospitals.Reed Instruments manufactures test and measurement equipment such as pressure gauges, electrical testers, temperature and humidity instrumentation, and inspection instruments. The company, founded in 2004, is headquartered in Wilmington, NC.What's in the Box?Reed C-370 RTD digital thermometerPT-100 platinum resistor probe(3) AAA batteriesInstructions
